Improved Adult Head Coil

The Improved Adult Head Coil has an "Open" design to alleviate patient claustrophobia. SNR enhancement of roughly 30% is seen at the coil center and this improves toward the closed end of the coil.

This SNR enhancement is achieved without significantly compromising RF uniformity. In fact, a high degree of RF uniformity is seen over the entire brain. The high SNR and the high degree of RF uniformity makes this coil ideal for volumetric imaging applications (such as MRI, MRA, fMRI and MRS) of the brain and intracranial vasculature.

The Improved Adult Head Coil package includes the coil, a stand-alone base for support and the following pads and straps for patient comfort and immobilization:

• Head Rest (thick, thin)
• End Cap
• Wedges (four size pairs)
• Body Pad
• Forehead Straps (two)

The Improved Adult Head Coil is compatible to GE 1.5 and 3T MR systems.
