Dual Tune Head Coil

Description
Dual Tune Head Coil Image from Dual TUne Head Coil
The Dual Tune 31P-1H Head Coil has un-paralleled 31P signal-to-noise (S/N). Our design is capable of simultaneous operation. Proton decoupling (proton transmit during phosphorous receive) necessary to improve spatial and spectral resolution is possible without increasing 31P noise. That is, optimum 31P S/N is maintained (and not compromised) with bi-level proton decoupling (for example, using WALTZ-4 and NOE). Owing to the distributed volumetric design, high degrees of RF uniformities are seen over the entire brain at both the NMR frequencies. Proton performance is comparable to the OEM standard head coil. The high SNR and the high level of RF uniformity makes this coil ideal for volumetric MRI and spectroscopic imaging applications (such as chemical shift imaging CSI).

Product manual to be posted here soon.
Package
The Dual Tune Head Coil package includes the coil, a stand-alone base for support and the following pads and straps for patient comfort and immobilization:
  • Head Rest (thick, thin)
  • End Cap
  • Wedges (four size pairs)
  • Body Pad
  • Forehead Straps (two)
Compatibility
The DT Head Coil is compatible to GE 1.5 and 3T MR systems. Siemens 1.5 and 3T versions are works in progress.

Note
The DT Head Coil is not approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA). Local IRB approval is necessary prior to use of this device on humans within the United States.
